Punjab de No.1 Awardee:-
This year Guru Nanak Institute has become the “Punjab de no.1 awardee” in a contest organized by Dainik Jagran (Newspaper Group) and Godrej No.1 team to select the best in the categories of Educational Institutes who were doing social service directly or indirectly in Patiala.
In this contest, large numbers of forms were filled to participate but a few institutes were selected by the team of honourable judges S.R.Sharma, Gurinder Dimpti & Dr. Balbir in the Gymkhana Club after a great effort.
In the category of Educational Institute/College, three Institutes were chosen. At last in the amidst of great applouse. Guru Nanak Institute has been declared Punjab de No.1 awardee by getting the maximum voting (SMS) because of its good will & client satisfaction on 3rd of Oct.2009 in the P.A.P. Stadium at Jullundhar where the huge audience was enjoying the “Ranga Rang Programme”. After this declaration, on 6th of Oct. 2009, a huge rally was organized in which the Principal, Students and staff participated to give thanks to Patialivees & distributed Ladoos.
Even our old students, who were doing their practice in the labs, nursing homes, ophthelmic & X-ray Labs had given a very good response in voting G.N.I.M.T. (sending SMS) because of Guru Nanak Institutes’s good will & Co-operation given to them at their studies time. G.N.I.M.T. has got the voting not only from one field (Para-medical) and not only from Patiala but also from so many fields and from other cities and states also only because of its good will, dedication towards hardwork & wider net-work.
I. G.N.I.M.T. students under the guidance of Red-Cross had given their volunteer services in the Independence Day Function held at Yadavindra Stadium, where the Finance Minister Copt. Kanwaljit Singh inaugurated the Function.
II. Dr.Subhash Dawar has done ‘Saraswati Poojan’ celebrated by Rashtri Jyoti Kala Manch, Sai Sangeet Academy at Language Department (GkPk ftGkr) Patiala. On this oaccasion, Dr.Subhash Dawar was the Special Guest of honour who also lit the Jyoti.
III. Rashtriya Jyoti Kala Manch (Regd.) has celebrated ‘Republic Day’ at All India Pingla Ashram in collaboration with Sahayata Youth Club & Nehru Yuva Kendra where Dr. Subhash Dawar was honoured by the owner of Pingla Ashram Baba Balbir Singh & D.S.P.(R) S. Davinder Singh Dhuri.
IV. “Dushehra Festival was celebrated at D.L.F.Colony by the D.L.F. welfare Association where Dr.Subhash Dawar was honoured by Association President Sh.Satnam Singh & by Municipal Councellor Mr. Bhangu.
V. Special Seminar was held in the premises of Guru Nanak Institute of Medical Technology Patiala where Social Worker Mrs. Suman Batra has given a lecture to the students of G.N.I.M.T. about the problem of growing population. This Seminar was held in association with the Desh Baghat Group, Patiala.
VI. A seminar was organised by Dainik Jagran in the Campus of Guru Nanak Institute of Medical Technology, Patiala in which Murari Lal Sharma (Lecturer Service Training Centre) has delivered a lecture on how to remove the “unemployment” by doing self-employment. On this occasion Gurjap Singh (Traffic Education Cell) has also delivered a special lecture on traffic rules & safe driving.
VII. Health Officer Dr.Banga has given the awareness to the students of G.N.I.M.T. about the bad effects on our environment by the use of plastic bags in a specisl seminar held with the collaboration of Dainik Jagran team & Guru Nanak Institute Patiala.
VIII. On Vishav Kidney Day Dr. Vikas Goyal (Seminar Medical Officer Govt. Dispensary Tripuri) has delivered a special lecture to the students of G.N.I.M.T. on how to prevent the kidneys from diseases. This seminar was the joint effort of Desh Baghat Group & Dainik Jagran.
IX. With the joint efforts of Desh Baghat Group & Dainik Jagran, a seminar on “Dengue” was held in the premises of Guru Nanak Institute Patiala, where the Chief Guest was Usha Dhingra & her associate Dr.Vikas Goyal was also present on the occasion. Both delivered the lecture on “Dengue & its preventions”.
X Blood Donation on the Insitute Premises:- On 9th October 2009, A Blood Donation Camp was organised on the Institute premises under the supervision of Jatinder Grewal, Parminder Pehlwas and Mrs. Satinder Walia (Social workers). Around 30 students (girls & boys of G.N.I.M.T.) donated blood. A team of worthy doctors from blood bank of Govt. Rajindra Hospital was present on the occasion. Dr.Subhash Dawar Principal/Director also donated blood himself. The Municipal Commissioner, Patiala, Mr.Manjeet Singh Narang and Mr.Bhangu (MC ward No.9), Nand Lal Guraba (ex MC)Ram Parkash ji, Dr. Jagbir Singh (MBBS, MS) Vijay Kumar (Patron Red Cross) were also present to grace the occasion.
Gurupurab, Diwali, Lohri, Basant & New Year Celebrations
Guru Nanak Institute celebrates Guru Nanak Dev’s Birthday (Gurupurab) Diwali, Lohri, Basant & New Year in the Institute premises with great pomp and show.
Gurupurab of Guru Nanak Dev Ji was celebrated on 2nd of Nov. 2009 where path of Sukhmani Sahib was recited by the students followed by Kirtan and Langar where a large number of respectable guests were invited.
On prominent festivals like Diwali, Holi & New Year sweets, Gachak, Moongphali & Meetha Rice etc. were given to students.
Welcome Party Celebration
Every year the Institute organises a welcome party in some prominent hotels of the city where both Ist year & IInd Year classes stage a ‘Ranga Rang’ Programme. The Institute gives academic prizes as well as other prizes to the most regular, most helpful students and for best performance in Gidha, Bhangra, solo dance, skit etc.
